# If an investing app closes

What happens next depends on the account provider, the asset, and the terms under which you hold it.

## Identify the provider

Keep statements and records showing who holds or issues your investments. The app and the financial institution responsible for the assets may be separate organizations.

## Check access and transfers

Review the provider’s closure notices and transfer procedures. Access can be delayed, and a transfer or sale may have costs or tax consequences.

## Tokenized holdings

Beaver uses tokenized securities held in your wallet. Holding a token does not necessarily give you the same rights as holding the underlying share. Access, transfers, and redemption depend on the issuer and product terms. A wallet does not remove issuer risk or guarantee continued trading if an app closes.
